Who I Am part 1

She wasn’t sure how she got into this. This was not part of her job. This was something she was completely not qualified to do. ‘This’ being to show a VIP around the Trauma Center for a week. But her boss and her boss’s boss had just informed her that the CEO wanted her in his office to brief her on what they needed her to do with this VIP person.
First of all, she wasn’t a people person. Even though Marina was a nurse, she just didn’t really enjoy people. Taking care of them was wonderful, but talking…not so much. Second, she didn’t do VIP. All customers get the same care from her, her very best. She would do her best to show this VIP around, but she was a bedside care kind of person, not someone who schmoozed people for donations.
After leaving the CEO’s office, she had a lovely packet of information to review over the next week before her VIP showed up to make her life miserable. She sat back down at her desk and began to skim through the paperwork. It was the most boring packet of papers she had ever read.
True to her nature, Marina set out to learn what she could firsthand about the areas they wanted her to take this mystery VIP to for their tour. She made notes and talked to staff about procedures and routines for the different areas. She made a plan. Now to wait. And pray for patience to endure a VIP.
