Like You Ought To Be Loved part 3

Time went on and Kim faded out of Jennifer’s life. Keith was back and forth to Nashville. Jennifer being in Franklin made it fairly easy for her to see him when he was in town. She was going to college in Nashville and often saw him after classes.
Keith periodically gave Jenn guitar lessons to help improve on the technique she learned in school. They enjoyed playing together. She had gotten pretty good. Even Sara was impressed.
Jenn still had no boyfriend. When Keith asked her about it one day, she gave him an earful. “I don’t need a man in my life to make it complete, or complicated. You know how I feel about sex outside of marriage . . . I get hugs from you. Why do you think I need a boyfriend?”
“Jenn, I just hate to see you lonely. You deliberately keep people at a distance. I bet you have maybe three or four good friends and that’s it,” he challenged.
“Yeah and you’ve got tons of friends . . . ”
“It’s different for me, being in music. People will use me if I’m not careful. Sometimes I even wonder if Sara is using me.”
“Keith? Are you and Sara okay?”
“I’m not sure. She’s wanting to get married. And my life is just so unsteady right now. It wouldn’t be fair to either of us.”
They sat with one another in silence for a little while, just being there for one another.
