Somebody I Can Bitch About (part 4): Chris

Chris O’Donnell was an actor. He had steady work on a weekly series. But at 42 years old (almost 43), he was really ready to settle down with the right woman. The right woman wouldn’t give a shit that he had been Robin in a Batman movie. She also wouldn’t care that he was an actor or be trying to use him to further her own career. He wanted someone he could enjoy being with when he wasn’t working.

He had a date tonight with a thirty year old divorced woman who was a friend of a friend. She was a little young for him, but the friend assured him that she was mature for her age. She was pleasant and very beautiful. He was having a reasonably good time.  She had gone to the restroom and he was contemplating an invitation for a second date with her when things changed.  A woman at the table next to them knocked over her drink. It was everywhere and he offered his napkin to her to help clean things up until their waiter returned with more napkins.  When his date came back, she saw him looking at the table next to them and the psycho was on.  She was convinced he was flirting with the woman at the table next to them. Never mind that her husband was at the table with her.  Obviously, his date had been cheated on by her husband and now had trust issues…or whatever they were calling that stuff now.

He did his best to calm her down and then took her home. Unfortunately, she lived near his house on Victoria Point Rd. in Malibu. This interfered with his need to drive around and clear his head before going home. So, he headed South on Highway 1 to see if it would help him relax. He ended up stopping along Topanga Beach and changing into running clothes to go for a run.  Running always shut all the other stuff out of his head. As a bonus, it made him feel better.  A few miles would do him good.

Halfway into his run, he saw a familiar face.
